Serious Addiction to Plastic Surgery

Posted under Beauty on Wednesday 9 September 2009

Do you know someone who has a serious addiction to plastic surgery? At one time or another we all worry about our appearance, but when you wake up degrading your nose, hair, eyes, chin, cheek bones, etc and then continuing to have these thoughts all day, that’s when there is a problem. Psychiatrists that diagnose these emotionally tortured addicts say that one reason could be the attention they receive after each procedure.

Another reason could be their inability to achieve what they perceive as being perfection. The television, movies, and magazines tell us what perfection should be. Thin, waif models with perfectly chiseled faces march across the runway and movie and television screens setting the bench mark for these girls and boys giving then the unattainable goal.

This leads to a poor body image and sometimes a constant effort to achieve it by any means possible. This can start at a young age when we are very susceptible to these images and wanting to be popular and fit in. Some young and old want to be accepted for their looks and they will do anything to possess it.

As stated before, if we degrade our appearance every minute of every day and will go “under the knife” over and over again never achieving perfection, this is a serious addiction to plastic surgery.

The most famous instance of this addiction may in fact be with Michael Jackson. The public may not have known the torture and preoccupation that he went through but we watched his face progressively change year after year.

Another good example is a woman named Jocelyn Wildenstein, a wealthy socialite who has frequently been seen in the tabloids because of her addiction to plastic surgery. You may not know her by name but you have seen her face. She is known to have received several silicone injections to the lips, cheeks, and chin along with a face lift and eye reconstruction to appear more “feline”. Her eyelids were pulled up and back, giving them a more feline shape.

She has reportedly spent $4,000,000.00 on facial surgeries alone to transform her face. The appearance of Jocelyn Wildenstein, the 60-year-old US socialite, is a stark warning to cosmetic surgery candidates.

These same people will probably be spending a second fortune on gym membership and will be wasting hours pounding away at treadmills and weights to get their body in shape, yet they will not commit to spend 5 to 10 minutes on some facial exercise that will improve their looks.

When a person becomes addicted to plastic surgery, Very few of these addicts come out of their nose dive, but with psychiatric help, there is a chance.

The muscles in the face are no different than the ones in your body. If you work them properly they will strengthen and lift your face and neck. Give yourself a face lift and see results within 7 days. Allow yourself to age beautifully.
