Yoga and the State of Spiritual Awakening

Posted under Fitness on Friday 7 August 2009

You read and hear so much about being consciously aware and spiritual awakening, but what does it all mean? What does Yoga have to do with it? How could Yoga practice cause a practitioner to live with intention and complete mindfulness?

Firstly, let’s talk about being consciously aware. One of my Yoga students is celebrating her 96th birthday this weekend. Her husband died quite young and she raised three children by herself. You might picture someone who is bitter, comes to class with a walker, and barely conscious at all.

She is the polar opposite of that image. She walks with a stride of a healthy woman in her 40’s. She is happy, still drives (quite well), and her mind is as sharp as a tack. She is my student, but I am in deep admiration of her approach to life.

So, I asked her to share her insights on longevity, mindset, worrying, happiness, and consciousness. She mentions to three points, that most of us tend to skim over, but here they are for us to analyze once again.

1. Moderation is a key to life. To eat, drink, and behave with mindfulness and moderation, is a Yogic and Ayurvedic principle. We can put this into practice by reading about, and then applying, the Yamas, Niyamas, and Doshas, to our life.

2. Remember that God walks with you, but he does not work for you. She elaborated on this point for some time, but here it is in a nutshell: Prayer is powerful, but we must take action. We have to get up from the couch and move forward. The power of action, and the power of prayer, combined, is an extremely powerful combination.

3. See the good in all people. It is so easy to forget about the good in humankind. It is natural to see the crimes, wars, cruelty, and scams on the news. Does the news report how many people volunteer for charitable work daily? Have you heard how many people give to good charities, despite their own economic hardships? The world media reports bad news because it sells.

My oldest student is 101 years of age, and she will see her next birthday this summer. She spends most of her average day in a wheel chair, but she had a contribution to make about the mystery around Yoga and spiritual awakening.

She has been practicing Chair Yoga with me for six years and here is what she has to say: “Spiritual awareness is a natural part of our existence. If someone lives long enough, he or she may find it, but Yoga will take you directly to it.” Furthermore, she stated that goodness is all around us, if we sincerely look for it.

How to Become a Yoga Teacher - From Dream State to Reality

Posted under Fitness on Friday 7 August 2009

Is it really possible to become a Yoga instructor or anything we desire? Many ideas run through our minds. Even when we sleep, our minds are dreaming and processing random thoughts. Most of our thoughts could be classified as a “dream state.” This includes waking thoughts that come and go.

Most of us take this random dreaming lightly and we rarely act upon any of our thoughts. For a rare few, these thoughts become “fuel” for action. To navigate through one’s imagination can be very difficult. We have dreams, but we also have deep rooted fear of the unknown, anxiety, stress, and anger.

During sleep periods, there are no guarantees as to whether dreams will be good, bad, or make any sense. If you keep a log of your dreams for a month, you will notice your mind mixes time, location, and theme, with no rhyme or reason.

Unfortunately, some of us suffer from this thinking during our waking hours, as well. In Yogic and Eastern philosophy, the mind is often compared to a monkey. Some of us may feel a constant background of mind chatter. These random thoughts are the creations of an undisciplined mind.

Yoga is one of the few disciplines, which can train the mind to become your greatest asset. The sorting of dreams, fears, and anger can be replaced by focused thought. The fact is: Some of your dreams are worth acting upon and some of your dreams should be discarded.

Not everyone wants to become a Zen master or a Yoga teacher, but everyone wants to maintain control of their mind. Losing control of the mind is also another great fear. Yet, many people let the mind run on autopilot. They wake, eat, drive cars, and work without much creative thought.

Some employers would prefer that employees keep their creative thoughts to themselves. This forces the innovative thoughts, within the minds of whole work forces, into dormancy. The familiar mantra within many companies is “Do your thinking on your own time.”

The problem is what to do when you see a reasonable solution to a problem, but your help is not wanted. The answer is to focus your creative energy, where it can help others or be appreciated. This requires each of us to take action when it makes sense to do so.

To ignore a realistic opportunity, that can only have good results, is a waste. Whether you want to teach Yoga classes, or study toward something else, do not waste time ignoring opportunities.

Harsh Realities about Obesity

Posted under Fitness on Friday 7 August 2009

Recent facts and figures about the prevalence of obesity in the American Society have caused most individuals to watch what they eat and to be more conscious of the lifestyle choices that hey used to opt for. But another reason to grow alarmed when the subject on obesity comes up is the reality that this epidemic does not only concern the adults; rather, it also concerns the children in the society.

Indeed, surveys and studies show that more and more children are growing obese. This phenomenon strikes whether the child is a girl or a boy; or whether he or she is from a rich or a poor family. This strikes us oddly at first but then we also began to realize that obesity indeed cuts amo9ng gender and age and social strata. It is simply the effect of the way of life led by the parents of the children. According to a study, the rate of obesity in young girls and boys increases steadily over the years since 1990’s. The result also yielded that those children who were diagnosed as obese continue to become obese as they grow old. Seldom were the cases when an obese child successfully fights off this epidemic.

From what we know about obesity, we are aware that this condition is no9t a death sentence in it. Rather, it only provides us with the threat; the possibility of incurring much health-related disorders such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and other chronic disorders that are difficult to manage. On our end, we believe that being obese is not a permanent state; we simply have to be aware of the efforts we need to partake in so that we can avoid the numbers of obese children and also, to help aid those children who are already in the state of obesity.

What is obesity and how does it differ from simply being overweight? Actually, not all fat people are considered obese. Obesity strikes when an individual’s body mass index or BMI exceeds to 30. As such, the person who is obese should already make dire efforts to correct his or her wrong lifestyle choices such as vices and wrong eating habits and of course, an inactive and sedentary lifestyle.

If truth be told, fighting off obesity is not impossible, but in order to combat this condition, we must first learn how to fight it not in its latter stage but in the present. Otherwise, it might be hard to get out of that condition. Indeed, studies show that being obese for a long time makes it harder for an obese person to lose weight. Our advice? Make the action now. Act and don’t allow obesity to ruin your life, especially at such a young age.

How To Use Weight Training To Lose Fat

Posted under Fitness on Friday 7 August 2009

There are a lot of counfusing myths about how to use weight training to lose weight and what are the right ways to use these methods.

There are some that think they can spot reduce by burning fat off of some areas of the body, or by doing a lot of repetitions with light weights is a excellent way to improve their physique.

The truth is, if you want to carve out a defined and shapely physique and you are using weight training as a method to lose fat, the first step is to begin training as a bodybuilder. Yes, that includes women too!

And there is a reason for this

When you are using weight training to lose fat you have to build and maintain certain levels of lean muscle; this should be your first objective. Muscles have the ability of burning calories by themselves; this is because they are metabolically active. In simple terms, the amount of muscle that your body has is directly proportional to your metabolic rate.

If you are going to build lean muscle you have to increase your metabolism, you need to stimulate muscle growth; this can be acomplishe by lifting weights on a regular basis that are just beyond the current limit of your muscles. In order for your weight training be effective, you need to push yourself!

One thing you have to make sure of is that your repetitions are in the low to moderate range. Doing a large number reps with light weights burns more fat may seem like the best way to accomplish this but this could not be further from the truth.

It is not possible to target fat loss from a specific area on your body. Whenever you train with weights, you are not reducing fat off of certain areas you are targeting with your weight training. What you are actually doing is increasing your metabolic rate by encouraging the growth and maintenance of your muscles; this aids you burning fat off of your body.

You should know that when you use weight training to lose fat, it is best to use low to moderate reps. They provide a deeper growth stimulating effect and allow you to handle more weight by tapping into the fast twitch muscle fibers, that are more likely to increases in size and strength. They also let you to keep your set short, which allows you maintain peak mental focus and decrease the chances of injury due to a bad technique.

When you exercising is focusing on the upper body, reps should be between 5 and 10, not lower, not higher. In order to do this you need to choose a weight that allows you can to do a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 complete reps, using correct form.

The lower body muscles are more responsive and can handle reps as high as 25 with good results. When you are training the lower body like lunges and squats are harder to perform from a technical standpoint, keeping the reps around 10-15 will help you prevent injury.

When you are using weight training to lose fat, your main goal should be to stimulate muscle growth; for this to be effective, you need to train hard and be able to increase your weight and reps each week.

For this reason, your body needs a certain amount of rest between each set. Although a rest period of 30 to 60 seconds is considered to be the average. I would actually recommend that you give yourself more time.

If you are weight training to lose fat, you want to rest your muscles between sets to allow your body to recover so you can be productive on the next set. A rest period can range from 2 to 5 minutes between sets, depending on the person.

Bear in mind that cardio and weight training to lose fat are not the same things. Speeding up your overall metabolism by stimulating muscle growth, not trying to directly burn fat, should be your goal. This in turn will help you shed fat from your entire body more quickly and easily. Also, lean muscle will help you achieve an athletic looking body.

The Truth About Obesity And Health

Posted under Fitness on Friday 7 August 2009

At a certain point in our lives, we were led to believe that being fat is cute. Accordingly, we were also made to believe that being fat is healthy because it means that we are eating well and are not bordering on malnutrition and the likes. As young children, these beliefs may not be helped because the adults around us have imbibed such viewpoints in our mindset. But as we have already grown to adults who are capable of thinking for ourselves, we should already make it a point to decipher the ideas and concepts that are real and which ones are merely imaginary.

Fact is, many adults have become so used to eating well and eating too much when they were still young to the extent that even in their adult stage, they have already adapted the practice of eating too much. To make matters worse, these adults are also eating the wrong kinds of food. For those adults, obesity has thus become a distinct possibility that they would be forced to grapple with.

Obesity is a condition that is marked by becoming too fat. Technically, a person is not yet considered as obese when he or she has not yet exceeded the BMI or body mass index of 30. Of course, obesity is a condition that we all want to avoid, for the reason that it has quite a number of effects on our health and of course, because it also shadows our physical appearance. Neglecting the latter, however, we should now focus on the effect that obesity may have on our health because this factor really cannot be ignored.

Obesity is a disaster that is headed for many health complications, that is already a given and a known fact, especially since many awareness campaigns and information drives have raised the consciousness son this issue. But then again, do we really know how obesity affects our health? According to some health experts, the reason why some people are probably not taking much effort to ease off obesity is because they are not aware of the gravity of the condition. Here’s a peak as to how obesity can utterly damage the health and wellness of an individual.

According to research studies, there are certain elements that are produced by fat cells which lead to the development of various diseases. These elements are called PEDF. Because PEDF is produced by fat cells, people who are overweight have higher levels of the protein in the bloodstream. The protein sends a signal to other tissues in the body, triggering development of insulin resistance in the muscles and liver. Meanwhile, it was also discovered that raised PEDF levels were also linked to a release of fats into the bloodstream, raising the risk of complications such as heart disease.

Is There A Connection Between Obesity and Depression?

Posted under Fitness on Friday 7 August 2009

The correlation between obesity and a low self-esteem is undeniable, no matter how we try to look at it. On one hand, we know and we are aware that obesity is a hazard to the health because of the effects that it poses on the organs of the system. But alongside these physical effects come another aspect of the persona of an obese individual which is also scathed: the emotional and psychological aspect.

We see many fat and obese individuals in the media. In fact, these people are all over the commercial ads and in TV shows and in various silver screen showings as well. But then again, the fact is that these obese people are almost always portrayed on a negative light and as such, it seemingly draws out the idea that being obese is somehow related to being unwanted and unaccepted in society. The connection between proper nutrition and mental health is impossible to miss. In day-to-day activities alone, the relationship between the two facets can already be verified. A prefect case in point is how the mind seemingly has a difficult time to function and perform optimally when deprived of food.

One particular study on the effects of obesity was researched on by a group of experts in Missouri. They specifically study its impact ion children. Accordingly, they discovered that children indeed show signs of the negative consequences of being overweight as early as kindergarten. In fact, they found out that these so-called negative consequences are those that relate to feelings of depression, anxiety, and loneliness as well. In their study, they also realized that these consequences affect the little girls in a farther extent that it affects the little boys.

Also during the study, the researchers examined the social and behavioral development of 8,000 school-age children. They evaluated factors that have not been studied previously, including age at becoming overweight and length of time being overweight.

Another point of consideration is the realization that obese youngsters have up to 10 times the normal amount of a compound associated with inflammation, and another that helps blood to clot. Both compounds are known to raise the risk of heart attacks and heart disease in adults. Moreover, it was also seen that obese children have high levels of c-reactive protein, which is linked to inflammation, and abnormally high levels of the clotting factor fibrinogen. The said study reveals that obesity is a condition that should be viewed in a different perspective and it should also be treated cautiously, especially if the cases of obesity involve young children because as it is, the feelings and emotions of these children are already quite sensitive and fragile as well.

To the parents of obese children, our advice is for them to seek treatment for their children and alongside this; they should also provide them guidance so that they will learn to adapt a healthy and active lifestyle, thus making it easier for them to manage obesity, even at a young age.

The Miracle of Self-Help Through Yoga Practice

Posted under Fitness on Friday 7 August 2009

Can Yoga make miracles happen? Can we make miracles happen? How often do you hear people hope or wish for a miracle? Many people perform wishful thinking, but how much action do they put into their wishes? Let’s look deeper into our daily Yoga practice, in order to recognize miracles - whether they are big or small.

When we sit down to meditate, it does not have to be a chore. There are many forms of meditation. One of them is through mindful self-reflection. This is not a time for self-destructive criticism, but for objective observation. When we take the time to observe without judgment, it becomes easier to see, and appreciate, the many miracles that take place each day.

Observe the impact you have made on others. Have you made someone smile? Have you encouraged someone to pursue their hopes and dreams? Have you made success possible through transferring positive feelings toward them? These may seem like small matters, but karma is a chain of small matters, which are a result of initial action that “set the wheels of motion” into a concerted action.

Many people are not aware of how much good they do for others, until the results of initial action become apparent. Consider this: Yoga, in all of its forms, is designed to end or reduce suffering. This may not seem to be a miracle, but it makes a big difference to someone who is in extreme pain. If you have pain from sciatica, all you can think about is pain. Yet, if you visit a Yoga teacher, or therapist, and as a result your pain goes away, it would seem like a miracle.

Pain, suffering, or being handicapped can bring about emotions, such as anger, depression, helplessness, self- doubt, and many more negative feelings. Any physical problem can challenge your mental and emotional ability to cope with it. Worse yet, our spiritual health can become challenged. It is still common, for those who suffer, to blame God.

In the past, our ancestors sacrificed each other to various Gods in order to end suffering. At this point in time, we consider ourselves civilized, in comparison to our ancestors; but when suffering is overwhelming, it becomes easier to take rational thought and “toss it out the window.”

We are still human, and unbalanced, emotional health can take a toll on anyone. Yoga is a system, which allows one to train the mind for those times, when we are challenged by life’s struggles. This is the daily miracle of Yoga practice.

How Do Calories Help You Lose Weight

Posted under Fitness on Thursday 6 August 2009

If you are searching for some free weight loss information that will help you lose body fat, keep on reading to learn about how calories work.

The body has to have energy to perform everyday tasks. Even the everyday jobs of our internal organs require a certain amount of energy. Every single day all day long , all that we do, whether it iss brushing our teeth or playing a sport, requires some energy from the body.

The body gets this energy that it requires to do these tasks from the calories we take in through the food we eat. If your body is a car, then the calories/food that you take in is the fuel the body needs. If we do not have gas, we do not have the energy we need to perform even simple daily tasks. On the flip side, putting in too much gas can cause us to put on weight.

What happens to the calories that we take in?

When calories are consumed, the following two things take place:.

One, the calories are automatically used into energy that will fuel the body.

Two, the calories are stored for future use by the body.

When you constantly consume to many calories, you end up with a sizeable surplus that has to be stored; it usually finds a place on your hips, stomach, or thighs. If you can say no to the temptation to fill the tank up every day, only then can you start using the excess amounts already stored in the body.

You can maintain your desired levels of body fat by continually using just a little bit of that excess each day. You have to consume fewer calories than you use as energy every day; this will make sure that the body uses the abundance of calories that are stored as fat.

However, this requires a lot of willpower, especially if you are used to filling up every day. Remember this is simple math; it is not important which type of gas you are using.

For example no matter if you eat spinach or French fries, any extra calories that the body does not use for proper functioning will be stored as fat.

What is the proper calorie deficit for you?

Even though it is important to create a calorie deficit, you do not want to go to the extreme and trigger your body’s famine response. If you go overboard and cut your calories too far, your body will actually slow down its metabolic rate as a natural survival response in order to conserve energy in order to survive this is just a natural response. Consequently, you will burn less fat and at the same time store more calories. A slight deficit in your caloric intake will increase fat burning without starting the natural survival responses of your body.

Making a decrease of 300 to 500 calories from the amount needed by your body to stay at your current weight is a good measure. Making these reductions is much easier than you might think. Many of us can cut up to 200 to 400 calories from our daily intake just by eliminating a soda or fruit juice, skipping trips to Starbucks, and slightly reducing the portion sizes at meals. This is one of the most basic bits of free weight loss info available.

When you remove calories in small amounts each day, as suggested in this free weight loss info, you will keep more muscle and lose more fat than you would if you attempted a restrictive crash diet.

Remember One Thing:

Slowly reduce your daily caloric food intake and increase your activity level so that you are burning more calories than you are consuming. If you can do this consistently, you will begin losing the pounds.

There is so much free weight loss info out there, but learning how to create a proper caloric deficit is the most critical piece of the entire puzzle.

High Fiber Diet: The Cleansing and Weight Loss Benefits It Offers

Posted under Fitness on Thursday 6 August 2009

Fiber is known for being a great health food choice and it is easy to see why. It plays a major role in the prevention of disease and in healthy weight management. Just as important, it also supports the natural cleansing and detoxification processes of the body. According to many experts, one should eat between 25-35 grams or even more of fiber daily to maintain good health. Because of the role fiber plays in keeping you healthy, it is important that you find out more about it and how it does its beneficial work in your body.

There are two types of fibers soluble and insoluble. Both types aid in getting rid of toxic substances from the body. As the name implies, soluble fiber which is found in oats, legumes, fruit, beans and nuts, dissolves in water. When it moves through the intestines, soluble fiber draws up the toxins to itself and traps them. When this happens the toxins can no longer be reabsorbed into the bloodstream.

Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water, this means that it goes through the digestive tract practically intact. As it passes through the intestines, it cleanses the colon by sweeping away the toxins that have accumulated in the intestinal wall. This is the reason why fiber has also been referred to as nature’s broom.

Another important function of insoluble fiber is to tone the bowel muscles. Fiber creates resistance and the bowel muscles get a good workout by pushing against it. This generates wave like motions that transport food through the intestines known as peristalsis which is necessary for healthy elimination which in turn is important in flushing out toxic matter from the body.

You may be wondering how all those toxins are able to enter your body in the first place. There are actually two types of toxins external and internal. External toxins come in the form of pesticides and pollutants from the environment. These substances seep into the earth, water and air and can cause serious health problems. Internal toxins, on the other hand, are formed within the body. These are the by-products of physiological processes that take place everyday like digestion and energy production. When people are unable to digest fats, protein and starches efficiently, what results is an overproduction of internal toxins.

Both external and internal toxins are absorbed by the body and circulate through the system on their way to the liver. As these substances travel within your body, some get deposited in the organs and tissues and this can result in inflammation which can lead to poor health.

Fiber is a powerful weapon that eliminates the toxins in your body by absorbing them from your liver and gallbladder to the gut. For this reason, it is essential that you include a lot of it in your diet. The ideal ratio is 65% insoluble fiber to 35% soluble fiber which is similar to the natural balance found in whole foods. To create a balance, you should eat different types of foods which are rich in fiber. Legumes and unrefined grains such as oats, whole wheat and rice are rich in mixed fibers. Apples, bananas, grapefruit and berries are among the most fiber rich fruits, and for vegetables it’s spinach, endive, cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots.

As such, it contains high levels of antioxidants and also, it has the appropriate elements that are important in attaining weight loss functions. These elements work they way into our system by eliminating calories and flushing out the fats that have accumulated in our system.

Additionally, the said elements can also aid in weight loss because it cleanses and detoxifies the system.
Technically, the explanation of the research is stated this way: The melon extract is a rich source of the antioxidant enzyme super oxide dismutase (SOD).

Sometimes called ‘the enzyme of life’, it is the first antioxidant mobilized by your cells for defense. It is thought to be more powerful than antioxidant vitamins, as it activates your body’s production of its own antioxidants, including catalase and glutathione peroxidase.

It’s a good thing to realize that we can opt for a healthier way to lose weight without having to go through strenuous diet fads and exercise options that are seemingly endless. Now, we have new options to pursue and this time, we are sure that it cannot affect our health and wellness in a negative way because this new breakthrough in weight loss is made of nothing but fruits. It is not chemically engineered in such a way that it would bring preservatives and unwanted chemicals and toxins in our bodies as well.

Unwise Practices that Lead to Weight Gain

Posted under Fitness on Thursday 6 August 2009

Some dieters lose weight by making sure that they exercise portion control. Ideally, this means that they can control their cravings for food. This is quite a good practice because we all know that the more you eat the fatter you become. Thus, it only follows that controlling the urge to overeat can help ease off weight gain. There are those dieters who have no problem controlling their food cravings; on the other hand though, there are also some of those who have the irresistible urge to eat. These dieters try to ward off weight gain by indulging in their desire to eat but limiting the portions of the food they consume.

To the outside observer, this might be a helpful activity which can strike a balance between fulfilling the appetite while exercising potion control. What very few people know is that there is also a particular danger to this practice.

Some health experts forayed into a thorough research about weight gain. Particularly, they ventured into a study to determine whether controlling the portion of the food we eat can indeed induce weight loss.

Accordingly, the result of the study was that although exercising portion control has an impact on managing weight, a person who lives a sedentary lifestyle cannot benefit much from this technique. Moreover, resorting to the adherence of this technique often leads to a slowed down metabolism. To those who are not much familiar with the concept of metabolism, a slowed down metabolism might not seem like such a big deal, but that’s where most dieters’ pursuit for weight loss fails.

According to the study conducted by the researchers, a slowed down metabolism is the result of difficult digestion. Someti9mes, it is also the result of following too many fad diets in one lifetime. Suffice it to say; even exercising portion control cannot suffice in maximizing weight loss. Rather, it can only lead to further complications.

Some people have made changes in their eating habits by eating with more frequencies but consuming less food that they usually do for each meal. This is supposed to help them lose weight but in reality, this technique cannot help much because of the concept called food addiction. Accordingly, when a dieter becomes addicted to a particular type of food, it doesn’t matter whether that person tries to control his or her consumption because after a while, the dieter would already be hooked to that food type. Unfortunately, our nibbli8ng on the food we enjoy too much would lead to diet failures because this would make us cheat on our dieters every so often.

For those who would need to lose weight, the best option is to make wise lifestyle choices not by limiting our food intake, but by getting used to ingesting healthy foods particularly, those foods that are laden with fiber, calcium, vitamins and minerals, and potassium.

Mental Tips and Techniques You can Use to get Results

It has always been a habit of mine to see a particular movie that talks about a coach who struggled to fight off his greatest fear before going to the gym. In the story, there a particular scene where the said coach endures an entire death crawl with a person on his back. He was able to finish up the blindfolded so that he won’t even think of giving up even before he finishes.

Personally, such courage and perseverance has set me to think over some thoughts before giving up on things that I think I could not endure. I battle with motivating thoughts when I feel like something is becoming monotonous and almost boring.

There was a research known from a South African university that explains how our brains trigger some receptors that expresses a feeling of pain. This reaction is a defense mechanism that most athletes are aware of and can contrast through some mental tips and techniques. Such contrast then can enable them to maximize their workout potentials.
A known body builder champion was able to set up some techniques that has provided him with great results and may enable some assistance for others as well. He states that having a particular goal is very important without which, techniques would deem very inefficient.

Based from the said concept there are four helpful tips to maximize mind influence:
First is to visualize success. Prior to sleeping hours one should have a certain goal of what activities they want to accomplish. It seems that there is a connection between sleeping and the subconscious that may affect outputs and daylight results;

Second is using a mantra. Having a mantra or a particular phrase that could work motivations for oneself is important. In example, the known body builder has set a mantra of “I Own You!” whenever he is trying to overcome a new workout. It actually works not only for him but for those who have tried it as well;

Third, Making your mind blank. This technique is a successful one that has been parted with some clients before enduring a particular activity. Setting oneself on only one thought and eliminating all others really has its beneficial effect. This kind of technique gets rid of negative thoughts that may force individuals to give up before achieving their goals.; and

The last one is, being strong. This means claiming and motivating on oneself that they are ahead of any activity. Bodybuilding champion has always inculcated on their minds repeatedly that they are stronger than the weight of their lifts.

Aside from these techniques it is also advised that people should perennially motivate themselves to do better on their next goal even though they have achieved the initial one. Aiming higher is the key.

When you take steroids, your body is going to experience the following side effects; shrinking of the testicles, low sperm count, decreased libido, enlargement of the clitoris, disruption of the menses, growth of breast in males, growth of facial hair in females, acne, insomnia, depression, increased rage, kidney problems, liver problems, and heart conditions.

Fad diets recommend that you strictly reduce your calorie intake. The moment you reduce your calorie intake, your body goes into starvation mode. Instead of losing your body fat and gaining muscles you end up gaining your body fat and reducing your body muscles.

The muscles are usually active tissues and require a lot of energy to be maintained. When the body goes into starvation mode it will burn muscles to generate energy so that it can be able to preserve energy while neglecting the body fat and this really compromises your body composition, since you will have more body fat and less muscles. The decrease in your lean body muscles will make your body metabolism to slow down. When your metabolism slows down your body will not be able to burn many calories causing you to gain weight.

If you want to lose weight easily you need to focus on how you are going to increase your body metabolism. A faster body metabolism means that you are going to burn the excess calories which are usually converted into fat by the body. In order to increase your lean body muscles there are two steps you need to follow. The first step included weight training exercises. In order to increase your lean body muscles it is a must that lift some weights.

Weights will help you to increase the strength of your muscles causing you to increase your body metabolism in the process. The second step involves eating a diet which is very rich in proteins and low on carbs. The reason why you need to eat a high protein diet is because they are the building blocks of muscles. You cannot be able to increase your body muscles if you are not willing to step up your intake of proteins.
You should also undertake regular aerobic exercises so that your body can be able to burn the excess calories.
