Alternative Medicines Place In Todays World

Posted under Health on Friday 29 February 2008

Think you dont know what alternative medicine is? Its more common than you think, and now has a firm place in the world today. Certain therapies not formerly thought of as
legitimate medical treatments are now being used on a more frequent basis to treat a variety of ailments, quite often with endorsement from the medical community. Some of the more common types of alternative medicine treatments include, massage therapy, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, herbal remedies, meditation, and spiritual
therapy

More than likely, you are familiar with many of these treatments; maybe you have even experienced a few yourself. Many of these treatments are not only used to treat many
common health problems, but are used by people all over the world in order to achieve total well-being.

For thousands of years, the treatments deemed alternative today were standard ractice. And now, people seem to be turning to these optional therapies when they are in a
health crisis, or if they feel they have nowhere else to turn.

There are factions of people throughout the world who prefer to take advantage of the natural effects that alternative medicines and therapies offer, rather than depend on synthetic drugs to cure or prevent ailments. Herbal medication have the benefit of being completely organic, or from the earth, and often provide equivalent remedies to prescription drugs.

Alternative medicines and treatments have become part of the fabric of our society today. While many of these therapies are meant to be used as a treatment for a health
problem, some are used by people as simply a method of relaxation or reward. Chief among them is massage therapy. Massage has become incorporated into the routines of many individuals in todays society as a means of stress reduction, rather than pain relief.

Meditation is another form of alternative medicine that has become an integral part of many lives in todays society. With its roots steeped in ancient spiritual history, meditation acts like massage in that it provides a release for stress and anxiety. In order to perform mediation correctly, though, you should learn as much as you can about it first. Many people enjoy this type of alternative therapy a great deal because of the personal control they have when performing it. Many individuals in todays society highly recommend meditation as a type of alternative medicine.

The stresses of todays society have led some to cry out for change. Many find solace and healing in alternative medicine treatments. The natural treatments and calming
effects of many of them are exactly what many people have been searching for in order to reduce their stress. The average person is forced to deal with a large amount of
stress on a daily basis. Alternative medicine and treatments bring relief to the stresses and anxiety that people of todays society feel weighed down by.

In todays society, we see a great deal of stress, anxiety, and illnesses. Alternative edicine provides a viable option to traditional medicine that aids people in the maintenance of their well-being in their busy lives. Massage therapy and meditation are two common treatments that people can turn to, that can also have a positive effect on todays society as a whole. As we move forward in society, you will continue to see a shift towards more
acceptance of alternative medicine and therapy.

Getting the Most from Your Tanning Bed

Posted under Beauty on Friday 29 February 2008

If you’re like most people, you know how convenient it is to keep your golden brown tan with a tanning bed. No matter how cold or snowy the weather might be, you can look good every day of the year just by maintaining your tan. But even though you’re not outside in the sun, you need to make sure to take the appropriate precautions to protect your skin from overexposure. The best and most effective rule to remember is, like most things in life, to be sensible! Use your bed in moderation, and you’ll be able to keep your tan without experiencing adverse effects. On the other hand, if you use your bed irresponsibly - for hours every day on the highest setting, for example - you’ll probably experience some major health issues.

Using a tanning bed effectively and safely is actually very easy, once you know a few good tips that will help you obtain and maintain the glow. You’ll be the object of everyone’s desire - and envy! - if you tan correctly. The first thing to do is to identify your skin type. This will help you determine how much tanning you can tolerate. Tanning beds are less intense than the natural rays of the sun, but they can still harm your skin if used improperly. Use a little caution, though, and you’ll soon be reaping the benefits.

Always remember to use a trusted, effective tanning bed lotion. Choose your lotion based on your skin type: if you have a fair complexion, your lotion will need to have a higher protection factor. In fact, even if you have darker skin, it is probably a good idea to choose these lotions, as you’ll benefit from that extra protective boost. Your skin has a lot to cope with when it is subjected to the rays from tanning lamps, and using a good, strong tanning bed lotion will help keep your skin healthy - and promote your tan!

Just like with any sun exposure, the key is never, never, never to burn your skin. Tanning beds’ settings can be strong, but responsible use should eliminate most of your major risk factors. Even so, you should understand how the machine works. Read its instruction manual and follow its guidelines - don’t stay in the bed for any longer than recommended for people who share your skin type. In short, tanning beds are a great way to keep your skin looking great, and a few minor precautions will protect you from experiencing any problems.

Ian Spellfield, an avid home tanner, discusses topics relevant to the use and pricing of personal tanning beds on his website, the residential tanning bed guide.

Bodybuilding And Weightlifting - Compound Movements, The Right Diet, Sufficient Rest Give Max Gains

Posted under Fitness on Friday 29 February 2008

When people first start out weightlifting in the gym they typically don’t get immediate results is this is often the reason that many people tend to give up pretty easily. Many of them are expecting immediate results after they start their workout program.

Trying to do twenty bicep curls four time each week is likely not to work well on many people and this is likely due to the fact that muscles don’t grow when they are being worked, but only grow when they are at rest. What this means is that while bodybuilding and weightlifting go hand in hand, it also necessitates that the bodybuilder to work their muscles in the gym and couple that with sufficient amounts of time for recovery.

Be Mindful Not To Overtrain

The person trying to complete a lot of exercises when doing a combination of bodybuilding and weightlifting sometimes will not show satisfactory results since in this sport, excess will not result in more muscle; instead and quite often, less is more.

In instances such as these overtraining can occur and some of the signs and symptoms of it are when a person become sick or gets a cold more often than is normal, becomes fatigued frequently, their eyelids and muscles begin to twitch, and most significant of all, there is little to no strength or gains in size for extended periods of time. Overtraining symptoms such as these are a sign that the person should halt any workout activities and take at least a week off in the form of rest.

Bodybuilding and weightlifting is comprised of various workout routines and numerous exercises as well as quantity of sets, how many reps per set, and other factors that the bodybuilder performs. Taking the workout and splitting it in two are is what is known as a ‘workout split’ and needs to be scheduled for specific days of the week that are designated for specific muscles to be worked on. As noted in this type of exercise routine as well overtraining should be avoided.

One of three different things should typically be followed when creating a workout routine and splits. The individual should concentrate on working shoulders, triceps and chest on one day and then should do back and biceps exercises on another day to focus on those specific muscle groups. This has the effect of not overtraining because you are separating the muscle groups worked on different days. Some bodybuilders adhere to the bodybuilding and weightlifting routines of chest and triceps on Mondays, shoulders on Thursdays and finally biceps and back on Fridays.

Bodybuilding and weightlifting involves an assortment of various exercises for each muscle group and there are numerous ways to split them so that you can make up a routine that suits you best. Muscle building along the lines of bodybuilding is not as easy as some would believe when first entering the sport.

It involves time and effort and requires a person to devote the necessary amount of time to accomplish the desired routines. The most significant bodybuilding and weightlifting exercise includes focused workout routines and these types of routines must be completed correctly.

There are primarily four exercises, within the numerous exercises that comprise a compound movement, which essentially are exercises that call for the body to utilize more than one muscle in any type of exercise. the four primary as well as most effective muscle building exercises are bench presses, dead lifts, squats and shoulder presses (also called ‘military presses’).

The four of these compound movements, if executed correctly, will assist the individual in their bodybuilding and weightlifting efforts, and coupled with an appropriate diet and sufficient amounts of rest will provide excellent results for the bodybuilder.

Safety and Care After Your Liposuction Procedure

Posted under Health on Friday 29 February 2008

Today many men and women of all ages are turning to plastic surgery to fix the parts of their bodies which they have been unable to modify to their standards through regular diet and exercise. One of the most popular procedures today is liposuction, also known as lipoplasty.

What is liposuction?

Liposuction is performed by a plastic surgeon and is used to remove pockets of fatty tissue from the body using a vacuum device and a small tube known as a cannula. The cannula is inserted into small incisions placed on the body and essentially sucks out the unwanted fat.

Who is a good candidate for the procedure?

The best candidates for lipoplasty are people who are at or near their ideal weight and have elastic skin. The procedure is used to remove fat simply to sculpt the body, not as a means of weight loss. As the body ages it begins to loose the elastic properties of the skin which makes older people less of a good candidate for liposuction than younger ones because the results will not look as good.

Is liposuction safe?

The procedure is relatively safe as long as it is performed by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and you take the care to follow your physician’s before and after surgery care instructions.

What should I do to prepare for liposuction surgery?

Your plastic surgeon will provide you with materials and instructions on exactly what you should do to prepare for your liposuction surgery. One of the first things you should do is to stop smoking at least a month prior to your surgery date. This will help your body to heal much more quickly and will lessen the possibility of complications.

What will I need to do after my surgery?

If you are having lipoplasty, you should make arrangements for someone to help take care of you, your children, and your home in the week following your procedure. You will be sore and need assistance in caring for things to keep from injuring yourself and to allow your body to heal well.
You may be placed in compression garments after your surgery and you will need to follow your plastic surgeon’s instructions as to when they can be safely removed. Additionally, if you exercise regularly you will need to wait to resume exercise until your plastic surgeon lets you know that it is safe for you to do so.

How long do I need to continue to see my plastic surgeon after surgery?

Once you have healed from your surgery, you will need to see your plastic surgeon once to check for proper healing. You may also need to see your surgeon again just to make sure that you’re healing well and getting the most from your liposuction surgery. It is very important that you keep all of your appointments and allow your plastic surgeon to evaluate your healing for any problems which may occur. By staying on top of your care you can ensure the best outcome possible.

Liposuction, New Jersey, includes developed liposcultpture. This new technique is performed by Bergen County plastic surgery, Parker Center for Plastic Surgery with advanced lipoabdominoplasty. They offer procedure information and before and after pictures to help you make your decision. http://www.parkercenter.net

Ten Sure Ways For Bags To Last

Posted under Beauty on Friday 29 February 2008

Caring for your bag is as important as spending your money when you purchase them. Aftercare is keeping your articles in good condition and putting your money in good investment. It is applicable to any item to prolong its use and acquire the value for your dollar. Here a few tips on how to maintain your bag’s new appearance even after years of use.

1. Always keep your bags inside their dust bags to cover them from exposure to dirt and dust. Putting your bags in its correct storage areas will ensure that bags are also kept away from unwanted household pets.

2. Always check your hands before you grab your bags and always do it by the handle. Your hands should be clean at all times when touching your bags. This prevents stains that might discolor your items.

3. When most of you may be in a rush after putting make-up on, make sure your hands are not soaked or stained with foundation or make up when you touch your bag. Cosmetics can cause hard to remove stains.

4. Leather bags are sometimes marked by points with sharp pointed objects leaving a certain part protruding from the rest. This is a venue for a possible wear and tear and can be avoided by organizing your ballpoint pens and other sharp-tipped objects in an organizer.

5. Check and strictly follow the washing instructions of your bags since this has been recommended to enjoy a longer use with the new look that your bag can retain.

6. If your bag’s handle is a string of metal rings or links fitted into each other, remove them from their source if applicable and store the handle inside the bags. This will prevent any scratches to the sparkling surface of the handle.

7. For your expensive items, avoid bringing your bags to places where spillage, damage and scratches are highly susceptible; places like the supermarket or the food courts are examples of which.

8. Bag liners are also useful for ladies who frequently shift from one bag to another. This allows you to transfer your materials in one lift from one bag to another with all the ease. This is going to be helpful for the stylish and classy business woman.

9. Special care should be given for designer bags. As mentioned earlier, there are special cleaning instructions that can be found inside the package. Leather for example must be kept dry to avoid the growth of molds which causes leather to become powdery resulting to damage.

10. Prevention is better than cure as they would always say. So, do not store anything inside your bags that can potentially hurt their cloth. Sharp objects, colored pens, water, etc. should not be placed inside the bag unless that specific compartment is made for it.

Undertaking the challenges of cleaning is pretty easy. The principle is to keep your bags away from the source. If this cannot be avoided, then, clean accordingly and properly without imposing more damage to your items. Give your bags the extra care they truly deserve!

Tummy Tuck and Pregnancy - Your Questions Answered

Posted under Beauty on Friday 29 February 2008

Many women wonder when the best time is to have their tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, surgery performed. This is a very important consideration for all women because pregnancy has such a profound effect on all women’s bodies.

What effect does pregnancy have on a woman’s body?

Pregnancy causes weight gain in the abdominal area both from the baby itself, but also from fatty deposits which the body makes during pregnancy. All of this weight contained in the lower abdominal area causes the skin and muscles to expand and stretch. The results are often many issues, including; fatty areas which cannot be removed through diet and exercise alone, hanging skin, stretch marks, and issues having to do with the abdominal wall muscles themselves.

One of the biggest reasons women choose to have a tummy tuck performed is due to the stretching and bulging of the muscles of the abdominal wall itself. This muscle budging can cause the abdomen to protrude outward and appear to be fat even when no excess fat is present in the area. Unfortunately, there simply is no exercise which can rectify the problem; the only solution is to have a procedure performed to fix the bulging and stretching muscles.

Just as with the issue of bulging abdominal muscles, the only way to remove the sagging abdominal skin from pregnancy is through a tummy tuck. Simple liposuction can deal with fatty deposits, but nothing other than an abdominoplasty can remove the sagging skin. The good news however, is that a tummy tuck will remove the lower abdominal skin where most stretch marks occur. This means that post-operation they will be gone as a nice byproduct of the surgery.

When is the best time to have a tummy tuck if you are a mother?

If you are a mom who is interested in a flatter stomach, like you had before your children were born, the best time to have abdominoplasty performed is clearly when you are finished having all of your children. By waiting until you have had all of your children, you can ensure that the effects of your surgery will be long lasting.

Can I have one if I have had a C-section surgery in the past?

If your children were born through C-section you are indeed still a good candidate for a tummy tuck. Interestingly enough, you will likely find the abdominoplasty will be less painful than your C-section surgery was and your recovery will likely be faster as well.

Is it dangerous to get pregnant after a tummy tuck?

It is not dangerous to you or your child if you get pregnant after having a tummy tuck. However, the pregnancy can reverse all of the changes made by your abdominoplasty and cause you to need another one following the birth of your child.

Because having a tummy tuck can be a fairly expensive surgery to have, and it is generally not covered by medical insurance, most women choose to wait until they are done having children to have their abdominoplasty performed. By waiting until after pregnancy, you can ensure that your stomach will stay flat and tight throughout your older years.

In Northern Virginia, tummy tucks are experienced procedures at the Center for Plastic Surgery in Washington DC. Their surgeons know how you feel about sagging skin, which causes skin irritation and clothes that never fit correctly. They offer video evaluators, before and after pictures and information online at http://www.cpsdocs.com/.

How To Make The Most From Dinner Suit Hire

Posted under Beauty on Friday 29 February 2008

Going to a school ball is one of the most memorable events of life. In America the prom is the biggest night of the whole school calendar and they go in for it in a massive way. The girls go out and purchase ludicrously expensive dresses which they keep for the rest of their lives. The boys dash down to the suit hire store and hire a suit that will make them look good for the event.

The school prom is a seminal moment in many people’s lives and recently this trend has begun to creep over the pond. An increasing number of schools in the UK now hold a formal dance at the end of the year and as a result the number of young men seeking to hire dinner suits is on the increase. It’s a great opportunity to have a definitive moment in your life that can be photographed for posterity.

The next major event that people utilise dinner suit hire is for black tie events. These are typically things like large birthday parties or charity events. The general term for the dinner suit in America is the Tuxedo and this name has crossed over to usage in English. Other ways in which this style of suit is referred to are semi-formal, black tie and evening dress. The most typical styling that differentiates this type of suite from the conventional suit is the use of a bow tie. The bow tie is the most visible difference between this style of dress and other suits.

As well as having this accessory the suits have a very different cut. The most typical design feature is that they are single breasted and are made of black wool. Traditionally the trousers are made from the same fabric as the jacket - black wool and are noticeable for their trim. This trim is usually made up of an inch thick satin ribbon that runs down the outer leg seam of the trousers. This satin should match the satin on the lapel of the jacket.

The shirt that one wears with a dinner suit also differs greatly from the type of shirt that you wear with a conventional suit. There are two major choices of shirt design. These are a raised collar or folded collar. The turned down collar looks similar to the traditional shirt and the bow tie is hidden underneath it with only the bow visible at the front. The collar up version of the shirt leaves the tie visible and has an up turned collar that juts up to the chin. The shirt can come in a variety of styles in which the front breast of the shirt can be adorned with a number of different styles.

Some shirts have a plain design but some have frilly sections that give the look certain flamboyance. One of the most popular style choices is the shirt that has sharp creases vertically down the front of the shirt. This makes the shirt distinguishable from a normal shirt. The dinner shirt also differs in that the cuffs typically need to be attached with cuff links. The choice of cuff links can finish off a dinner suit and help make a really good impression.

Shaun Parker has helped numerous couples organise their clothing for the wedding day. He is also an authority on dinner suit hire.

Sauna and Medical Issues - Can a Sauna Help me Get Over the Flu?

Posted under Health on Friday 29 February 2008

Europeans have been using saunas for many generations. In fact, the sauna was invented in Europe - in Finland. They have been using them a lot longer than North Americans have, and they are much more familiar with the many uses of the sauna and what it can do for the body. Many North Americans think that a sauna is just good for losing a few calories or sweating out a few of the body’s toxins, but the sauna has many more useful benefits for the body than just those two things.

Saunas have been known to cure arthritis pain, back pain, and basically any kind of chronic pain. They also can take away headaches and migraines and sinus pains. Perhaps the cure that saunas are most famous for is the cure for cold and flu symptoms.

It may be hard to believe that sitting in a small, hot room, sweating until you think you can no longer handle the heat will cure you of sneezing and coughing, but saunas have been proven to do it. Think about it: people almost never get sick from colds or flu in the summer, but almost everyone (in North America at least) comes down with at least one cold in the winter time. The reason for this is not because of the cold weather. In spite of what your mother has always told you, walking around in your bare feet on a cold floor will not make you “catch your death of cold”! There are only two reasons why we catch more colds in the winter. One is that we are in closer contact with each other in the cold weather, and germs just don’t have as far to travel, and the number two reason is that we do not sweat very much in the winter.

Cold and flu germs are still circulating in the summer, but with the hotter weather, our skin sweats out the germs (most of the time, anyway!) before we even realize that we had any germs inside of our bodies. Naturally then, when we go to the sauna and sweat, this has the same effect as it does when we sweat in the summer time. Also, when you are sitting inside of a hot sauna for twenty or thirty minutes, your body is sweating a lot more in a shorter period of time and this can and will maximize your results. Not everyone will have the same reaction to the heat of the sauna, and not every person will have success getting rid of their cold and flu symptoms by using a sauna, but the majority of the population will be able to relieve their bodies of these sicknesses.

One important thing to remember when visiting a public sauna when you are suffering from a cold or the flu, is to bring some sanitary items along with you. I’m sure that you do not want to pass on your sickness to someone else, so it is important to remember to disinfect the area of the sauna that you sat on before you leave.

Eyelid Surgery: The Risks and How to Minimize Them

Posted under Health on Friday 29 February 2008

Have your friends and family started asking if you’re having trouble sleeping? You look so tired … But, you don’t feel tired and you are getting plenty of sleep.

A look in the mirror reveals the problem- puffy, saggy eyes. Eyelid surgery can correct this. After researching the procedure, you decide it is the way to go to rejuvenate your eyes and wake up your face.

This is generally a safe and common procedure, but as with any surgery, there are risks. Some are fairly minor and temporary, but there are more serious risks that you should be aware of before going under the knife.

Minor/Temporary Risks:

* Blurred vision- this can occur as a result of the normal swelling, but also if the muscles around the eye are traumatized. If blurred vision occurs, it is usually temporary and corrects itself when the healing process is done. Permanent blurred vision is rare.

* Corneal Scratches- the eye is a very sensitive and fragile organ and abrasions may occur. While the surgeon and staff keep the area clean and free of debris during the procedure, even the tiniest of particles can cause a scratch. Taping the eye closed for several days will give it a chance to heal itself.

* Scarring- if done correctly, the scars are hidden in the lash line and crease of the eye. After a time they are nearly invisible. But there is always a risk of complications while on the table or during the healing process that leaves behind visible scars.

* Dry Eyes- if this is an existing condition, visit an ophthalmologist for treatment first. But, dry eyes can occur as a result of surgery as well. To prevent this, the surgeon can place a suture to hold the lower lid up and in place during the healing process.

Major Risks:

* Cannot close eyes- this occurs when too much skin is removed during the original procedure. To correct this, grafting skin to the upper lid may be necessary, which means another surgery.

* Sunken Eyes- too much fat is removed from around the eye making the eyeball appear sunken in. This is an aesthetic risk, but a pretty big one. Relaying your goals clearly to your surgeon can prevent this.

* Corrective/Additional Surgery- if the original surgery does not accomplish all of your goals, additional surgery may be necessary such as a brow lift and skin treatments. If it does not turn out like you wanted or mistakes are made, surgery to correct the problems may be necessary as well.

* Blindness- this is the ultimate risk of eyelid surgery. Blindness is rare, but it is important to know it can happen. It is caused by bleeding in the fat pockets around the eye. If fat removal is not part of your procedure then this is even less of a risk.

Surgical Risks- no matter type of procedure, there is always a risk in surgery. Reactions to anesthesia or pre-op drugs can be very dangerous. Visit your regular physician to clear you for surgery and always relay to the surgeon current medications and health conditions.

The best way to minimize ant complications is to do your homework and to be a good patient: Learn about the procedure and know what to expect. Research your plastic surgeon- make sure he is board certified, ask how many eyelid lifts he has performed and ask to see pictures.

Ask many questions- keep asking questions until you feel comfortable about the procedure and with the surgeon. Having a great surgeon does not eliminate the risks, but it certainly minimizes the chance of anything serious occurring.

In Northern Virginia, eyelid surgery erases the visible signs of aging. The Center for Plastic Surgery offers you a variety of surgical options with eyelid surgery, face lift, or brow lift procedures. Information, before and after pictures, and financing available online at http://www.cpsdocs.com/

Things You Should Know About Arthritis

Posted under Health on Friday 29 February 2008

Arthritis is a painful condition, and for this reason it should always be taken seriously. The truth is that arthritis does not affect only old people. Contributing factors include congenital hip luxation (which is genetically determined), obesity, osteoporosis, and inflammatory diseases such as Perthes’ sickness and all chronic forms of arthritis (e. Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most serious and disabling types, affecting mostly women.

In general, studies have shown that physical exercising of the affected joint can have noticeable improvement in terms of long-term pain relief. While evidence of primary ankle (kaki) osteoarthritis has been discovered in dinosaurs, the first known traces of human arthritis date back as far as 4500 BC. Evidence of arthritis has been found throughout history, from Atzi, a mummy (circa 3000 BC) found along the border of modern Italy and Austria, to the Egyptian mummies circa 2590 BC[citation needed]. Rheumatoid arthritis is a sickness where white blood cells suddenly attack healthy tissues, specifically joints and cartilage.

Causes Of Arthritis

The inflammation process causes redness and swelling in and around your joints, over time it starts to damage the joint and the joint tissues. Rheumatoid arthritis is caused by an overactive immune system. Chronic inflammation leads to pain, stiffness, joint erosions, ankylosing features, and impaired mobility, which can result in functional disability, increased health care costs, and reduced employability. There are several identified causes; it may, therefore, be a combined action of various factors.

Cure for Arthritis

Treatments are always more effective if they are caught in the early stages. A great way to block the arthritis pain signals is by having a positive attitude and many pleasant thoughts about everyday life, this will help you take your mind off the arthritis pain. The only way to reduce the chances of having rheumatoid arthritis is by proper exercise and a diet supplemented with vitamins and minerals to sustain healthy bones and a healthy body. Besides helping with arthritis, eating salmon may protect the cardiovascular system by preventing blood clots, repairing artery damage, raising levels of good cholesterol, and lowering blood pressure.

Salmon is among the richest sources of healthy fats, making it an ideal source of omega-3 fatty acids. Cheese can be easily sliced to put on a cracker or a sandwich, grated into your favorite recipe, or eaten alongside an apple or pear for a fresh, quick snack. Green tea contains hundreds of powerful antioxidant chemicals called polyphenols and has been cited for helping prevent problems ranging from cancer to heart sickness. Commonly referred to as one of nature’s perfect foods, bananas are perhaps best known for packing potassium, but they’re also good sources of arthritis-fighting vitamin B6, folate, and vitamin C.

Stretching Will Prevent Injury Before Exercise

Posted under Fitness on Friday 29 February 2008

You don’t want to start stretching until you have been loosened up with some low intensity activity, such as light aerobics or some brisk walking.

As we get older we will naturally start to lose our flexibility and increase the chances of injury, whether it is exercise or normal physical activity. Stretching will increase your flexibility and help prevent injury, so it’s a good idea to make it part of your lifestyle, especially if you have been inactive.

Be sure to always begin slowly and find how far you can gently stretch your muscles and tendons without any kind of discomfort or pain. When done properly, it will actually feel good. Completely stretch the muscles by holding at the end of the stretch for about ten to twenty seconds.

* Begin by slowly rolling your shoulders and neck. Now swing both arms separately and gently in a windmill type motion which will bring your arm past your hip each time to make the full large circle. Do it both forward and backwards. Then put your arms straight out from your sides and rotate your arms in a tight softball size circular motion.

* With both hands on your hips while standing straight, slowly bend to the left and right without bending forward, keeping your shoulderblades even with your buttocks while your leaning. Hold each bend for 5 to 15 seconds.

* You perform this one the same as the last with hands on hips, only you are now going to rotate your upper body in a full rounding type motion including a downward motion toward your knees. Slow and easy works best.

* Stand with a straight posture and lift your arms above your head. Raise yourself up onto the tips of your toes and stretch it. Try to hold it in the up position for a period then lower yourself down and repeat.

* While standing erect and hands on hips, slowly go down and touch your toes. Hold, or make a small up and down like pumping motion toward your toes. Then go back up, touch your hips and raise arms over your head, then bring them back down to hips and toes in a fluid type manner and always hold or pump gently.

* Find a solid hard surface where you can comfortably place one of your palms on surface at waist level. With one of your hips facing the surface, place a straight arm palm down on top. Now take your other arm and lift up and over your head while raising up onto your toes leaning towards the other arm and surface top. While doing this you should be in a balarina like stance or C shape. Do enough of these and you can reduce love handles and build your calves. Do both sides and repeat.

When you are finished stretching out your tight muscles and tendons you are ready to begin your fat reducing exercises or muscle building program safely. Be patient but persistent and you will reap great benefits, so don’t try and do to much at once.

Apply these stretching routines before all your activities, including normal physical activity. You should be feeling more nimble and healthy especially if you’ve finally made the decision to include exercise or physical activity routines into your daily life. Quality exercise combined with a quality diet program will give you the best chance possible to get to the proper weight and fit look you’ve been seeking.
